Nosh is looking for ambitious, creative individuals to join our team. We currently are looking to fill 3 positions (25-30 hours/wk):

• Dishwasher/Kitchen Help

We are looking for a dedicated, organized dishwasher who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced culinary environment. Other duties include restocking items, unload delivery trucks, help prepare cook stations, clean appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptacles, and other duties, as needed.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Customer service
  • Planning and multi-tasking
  • Self-motivated with a high energy level
  • Verbal communication
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Hospitality-related kitchen experience preferred
  • Current food handler’s card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps food as needed. Keep the dish area free of clutter and organized.
  • Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
  • Maintains clean/dry floors throughout the shift.
  • Properly washes, stacks, and stores china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
  • Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.
  • Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
  • Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
  • Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
  • Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
  • Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed

• Sandwich/Salad Artist/Front of Store

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A food handler’s license.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-food restaurant, deli, or similar environment.
  • The ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to work effectively under stress.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparing all sandwich ingredients, which includes washing, cutting, slicing, chopping, and grating ingredients according to established guidelines.
  • Preparing sauces, condiments, and other related menu items. 
  • Neatly preparing sandwiches according to customers’ orders.
  • Operating the cash register and handing customers the correct change.
  • Explaining menu options to customers as required.
  • Neatly wrapping customers’ sandwiches.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work station at all times.
  • Properly sanitizing all utensils and dishes before each use.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations while storing, preparing, and serving food.

• Prep Cook

We are looking for an ambitious Prep Cook to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes.

A great prep cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as part of a team.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as prep cook
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Manual dexterity and ability to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patience with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Very good physical condition and endurance
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
  • A food handler’s license.

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
